Some Exciting Testimonies what God did in RwandaJesus Competes the local GodsOne of our Jesus Film teams went to the unreached region of Kyeru in the province of Ruhengeri. There is a lot of witchcraft in this region and temples for Nyabingi, Lyangombe, Biheko and many other small gods. When our team began to project the Jesus Film, the witchdoctor told them: “I am going to prove that your Jesus has no place here.” He sent thunder and ligthnings so that our projector blow up and everyone run away. They said: ”Look, your Jesus has no power.” The team had to leave. For three days they fasted and prayed for the region. Then they came back and marched around the village proclaming the blood of Jesus according to the battle of Jericho. They went to show the Jesus film in this village and three quarters of the population of the region recieved Christ as their Savior, among them three major witchdoctors. The leader of them broght us to his house which was a laboratory of witchcraft. They took everything that was linked to witchcraft and burnt it. Today this is a Pentecostal Church.
Electrocuted by God’s PowerIn August 1999, the Kinyarawanda JESUS film was shown in Gikongoro. Throughout the film, and especially during the crucifixion scene, three people loudly cried. The film team continued to show the film despite the loud disturbing noise. At the end, the team asked anyone who wanted to receive Christ to come forward. Three rebels with guns and grenades stepped to the front of the crowd. They came to the film showing to attack people, but as they watched they knew that they were wrong and guilty of sin. The rebels said that it felt like they were electrocuted as they saw the power of God, and they could not stop crying. All renounced their plan to kill the people in the crowd and said that they have come to be pardoned by God. After Jesus changed the hearts of these rebels they were no longer criminals and rebels, but they surrendered their lives to Jesus and continue to follow Christ! Prayer can create a LakeIn the year 2001 there was a very long periode of no rain in Mutara Province in the east of Rwanda. Buffalos and Hypos of the National Park Akagera began to die and people left the place as there was no more water. The Governor of this region who is a Brother in Christ asked Pastor Marcel Vuningoma to pray for rain. This night the Governor planed to go to a soccer match, but Paster Marcel warned the Gouvernor not to go as heavy rain would come. As there was no rain for months the Governor ignored the warning and went to the stadium. When the match was still running a very heavy rain began to fall as never seen before. In this night the water gathered and became a lake, which still can be visited. |
